WHEN BELIEVERS ARE ON THE DEVIL’S TEAM

Dear Folks,

I have always believed that the greatest Prophet over your life is yourself. It is more important what you say about your life, than what someone else says about your life. In fact, most prophecies over your life will only be fulfilled when you agree with them. The question this day is what are you saying?

I found it absurd how the devil has really taken over the lexicon of the believer. Many have joined the devil’s team – they are speaking exactly what the devil says, or would have said to them. I am sure you have heard people say, including believers, ‘I AM DEAD SERIOUS’ – What has seriousness got to do with being dead. Or ‘I AM FINISHED’ Wait a minute, wetin (what) happen? Even, Jesus on the cross didn’t say ‘I am finished’ but ‘IT IS FINISHED’. And then some say ‘I AM HUNGRY LIKE HELL’. Are you serious! I found no meeting point between hunger and hell. And some even think it’s cool. Time and space will fail me to tell of the very many negatives in our indigenous tongue, take for instance someone said, ‘temi ti baje’ – (Yoruba, meaning my own, my life have spoilt). When you say such words, you don’t need demons.

We need to understand that being believers’ means speaking the way God’s speak, or the best way, speaking what God has said. Are your words in tandem with God’s words or with the devil’s? I want to conclude by looking into two portions of the scripture.

1. Proverbs 18:20-21 says, ‘A MAN'S BELLY SHALL BE SATISFIED WITH THE FRUIT OF HIS MOUTH; AND WITH THE INCREASE OF HIS LIPS SHALL HE BE FILLED. DEATH AND LIFE ARE IN THE POWER OF THE TONGUE: AND THEY THAT LOVE IT SHALL EAT THE FRUIT THEREOF.’

Solomon said that your words are seeds, and like every seed, when sown, they must germinate, all things being equal. A farmer eats of the fruits of his seed – whether directly or by profiting. The words you release today are the seeds, the fruit of which you will feed on tomorrow. Many times in life, the things we see don’t just happen, they happen as a result of process. Your present state is a result of what started long ago.

What are you filled with today, what are you experiencing today? If your life is full of varying degrees of bitterness, failure, pain, disappointment etc, it may be because of the things you said long ago; you may be eating of the fruit of your mouth. A sure way to change your life is by starting to sow the right seeds. Heaven and earth respect your words – “SAY UNTO THEM, AS TRULY AS I LIVE, SAITH THE LORD, AS YE HAVE SPOKEN IN MINE EARS, SO WILL I DO TO YOU” Numbers 14:28. Life is more about the seed we sow than about the harvest, for your harvest is determined by the seed sown.

I love the message translation of Proverbs 18:21, “WORDS KILL, WORDS GIVE LIFE; THEY'RE EITHER POISON OR FRUIT--YOU CHOOSE”.

2. So in whose camp are you? Let’s consider the second scripture:

‘It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: THE WORDS THAT I SPEAK UNTO YOU, THEY ARE SPIRIT, AND THEY ARE LIFE.’ John 6:63

The literal translation says, ‘the word that I speak are spirit filled and life giving’. Many years ago, while meditating on this verse of the scripture God told me, He said ‘all words spoken by men have a spirit, either my spirit or the devil’s spirit, the devil’s therefore brings death while mine gives life’. Those words over the years rings through my spirit. All words are spirit – but some give life, some death. Remember Jesus didn’t say ‘some of the words that I speak…’ So no room for I was only joking or being cool. All your words must be Spirit filled and Life giving. Don’t sulk life out of your life. Speak like a God’s fan! Determine to never support the devil’s plan. Quit the devil’s team!

Therefore be careful whose team you are supporting. John 10:10, told us the devil’s team and game plan is always about stealing, murdering and death. While some people claim not to be for the devil, they, by their words energize him to act in their lives. 

My challenge to you today is that you will appreciate the creative power of the tongue and understand that the spirit world is controlled by the word of God. The spoken word of God is creative power, and there is great power in your tongue. Therefore learn to use it wisely, align your tongue with God, be a God’s fan with your words and keep speaking the word of life – for surely as you have spoken in His ears He will do.

SHARPEN YOUR SKILL 3

One of the things you are solely responsible for is the development of your gifts, talents and skills. You must take charge of the development of these areas of your life. The skill may have been given by God, or you may have acquired it, but the growth, maturity and increase of the gift and ability is your responsibility.

Today, I want to write about ways we can whet the edge, what we must do to sharpen the skill and to ensure that the ax head (ability, skills, talents and gifts) do not become blunt. If you must stay ahead of the pack, then you must keep the following principles close to your heart:

1.       STAY INFORMED: Information is the bedrock of the society we live in; you must seek to know. Get all the information you can get concerning your area of interest. Don’t ever get to a point, where you begin to think that you know all you need to know about a thing. There are always things to learn. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 8:2, ‘Those who think they know something really don't know as they ought to know’ (GNB).

There is a guy in my office who works in the video editing department, I remember five years ago when an uneventful happening necessitated his move into that department, he knew nothing about video editing, but his craving for excellence led him to purchase many video tutorials, and he spent endless hours on the internet surfing for information to make him better. Today he stands tall amongst his peers, and he has bettered those he met in the field.

Truly knowledge puffs up, but you can’t allow yourself to be puffed up to your damnation. You are made for eminently bigger things. Stay informed! Attend conferences, read books, watch seminar and tutorial videos, buy audio messages. Do all you can to be informed! Don’t let ignorance kill you.

Break the addiction to television programs and series that consume too much time, and get back the habit of reading for the sake of personal growth. Subscribe to major news magazines in order to stay current and be able to interpret your work in the context of contemporary society.

We live in a world of loads of information, yet too little or no benefit. The problem may be because we do not seek any specific information. Next time you hold your tablet, smart phones and gadgets, make sure you are searching and surfing for things that will benefit and further improve you. Solomon, that old sage and prophet said, ‘Get wisdom, get understanding…’ Proverb 4:5.

STAY FRESH:

Stay on the edge; don’t ever get to a point of contentment, for contentment is the true bane of greatness. You must therefore be on the lookout for fresh ideas, new ways and methods of doing things. A man is limited who believes there are no new methods to doing the things he does. Don’t have a close mind, stay open and be receptive to new ideas.

Do not be a yesterday’s man, you are made for today, you are made for something bigger than what you have achieved. Paul said, ‘My friends, I don't feel that I have already arrived. But I forget what is behind, and I struggle for what is ahead.’ (CEV, Philippians 3:13). This was a great achiever speaking, you never rest on your oars, you keep on keeping on. Remember, those who do the things that count never stop to count them.

If you will sharpen your edge, then you must stay fresh. You must be a man hungry for more; someone who is on to something greater. Renowned brands in the world like Milo, KFC, Apple, HP etc. always seek to reinvent their product, they don’t stay content with their present output level and efficiency; they seek for more. You need to challenge yourself; you need to ensure you give more. Stay fresh, always, always reinvent yourself.

“If the iron be blunt, and one do not whet the edge, then must he apply more strength; but wisdom is profitable to give success.”

GOD'S 3D CINEMA

“We are ready to study GOD, eager for God-knowledge…”

                                                                                                            Hosea 6:3 (The Message)

A time must come when the depth of your perception increases.

You may have caught a glimpse of your tomorrow. You may have received the light upon which you must travel. And at the time when you received it, you were full of hope, totally excited about what God was about to do in and through you. You even boasted about it! But fast forward, a few years later. Your dream is totally out of gas and steam. You only faintly remember the promise of God. You are almost in the place of despair. You are about to give up.

My dearly loved friend, don’t give up yet. What you are experiencing is the leaking of a vision, for truly vision leaks!

But when vision leaks, what do we do? Do we begin to dream of yesterday like we can have it again?  Or do we just forget about it? Friend, we all shall pass through the ‘Valley of Leaking Vision’; that point on the journey when we tarry, and sometimes doubt the actualization and manifestation of our vision.

So what do we do at this tarrying season and in this moment of our lives, for what we do in this time is most important! “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry” (Habb 2:3). But while we wait, it leaks and sometimes it becomes zero level. We no longer believe in it, or we become afraid it might not even be inspired. You want to abandon it. You say maybe it’s not God! Maybe I dreamt wrong! Wait a minute, don’t quit on your vision. You are in the valley but God is saying, ‘come with me let me take you to my cinema, let me show you your future in 3D, come to my movies for I have a 3D experience with you as the main act’

It is appropriate to share with you the story of a man God took to His Cinema; He said ‘Come forth abroad….’ Genesis 15:5

Abram was a giant of old, a pure faith radical, old yet relentless in his pursuit of a God he had come to know. He was living life in a land when God called upon Him, and told him to leave and follow His guide as He leads him to a land unknown. Then He promised that through him, He would make a nation. Abraham believed, he caught the vision and he followed God, but then his circumstances (He was without a child) made his vision leak. He was like us; sometimes circumstances collude against us to make our vision leak. I will have you remember, when your faith shakes and trembles, stay with God for He has revelations in 3 Dimensions that can help strengthen your faith.

So we find Abram in a dejected plea with God in Genesis 15:3 ‘…Behold, to me thou hast given no child’. The vision was leaking. But God did something, He gave him a 3D image – ‘And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be’. God took him through an experience that increased the depth of his perception.

God dealt with the problem by giving him a 3 dimensional vision – He gave him an imagery that dealt with the width, height and depth of his vision. He showed him something that the retina in his eyes could form a two- dimensional image with and his brain processed these two images into a 3D visual experience.  This is what is called Stereoscopic Vision. God’s solution to the ‘Valley of Leaking Vision’ is to take you for a 3D Experience. Don’t give up on your vision, don’t leave God, and don’t run away from Him. Seek to know Him. Get to Him; for in Him, is the revitalization of your vision.

Many times God gives us a vision, a dream about our future and we think that we can actualize it without Him. Stop doing the impossible. Stop living life on the difficult lane. Get to God and let Him provide you with your 3D experience. For He leaves imprints in our hearts that help us focus on our future. When He brings you through the experience, then you will be able to believe. Faith based on insight and revelation is magical. It is the highest level. And after his 3D experience, Abraham believed God and it was accounted for him for righteousness (Genesis 15:6). It is time for your faith to increase, lay hold on God. Let Him fire up your vision, for He teaches His truth in 3D vision.
